MORO GRIEVANCES
Why there is a rebellion in Mindanao? A question which I always encounter to most of my Christian friends, thus, as your sincere and honest friend let me reveal to you the real story behind the Bangsamoro revolt, because I believe that revelation of truth takes men out of servitude and tyranny into freedom and democracy.
The fundamental cause of the Bangsamoro uprising is their love and quest for bringing the laws of God as the Supreme of all laws, on that way they will achieve total and eternal freedom.
When there is no freedom there is death and extinction here in the world and in the hereafter. It is expressly mentioned by God Almighty to his divine Qur’an that those people who don’t obey the Qur’anic verses shall be considered as unbelievers. Ergo, in believing to the precept of the Qur’an the Mujahideen became a rebel in the eyes of the laws of the Philippine Republic, while all the Muslims have committed the crime of rebellion against Almighty Allah when they chose to adhere their allegiance to the Philippine Constitution, instead of obeying the qur’an as their law and accepting the fact that God’s Qura’an is second to the Laws of the land.
Prior to the arrival of the Spanish Colonizer the people in Mindanao live with harmonious. Peace and order in accordance with the customary laws and the teachings of Islam was systematically established by the Sultan along with the other state leaders. To maintain the Moros’ beautiful culture, identity and freedom, they fought vigorously against the more sophisticated weapons of Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese, and it is honourable to say that the Bangsamoro ancestors were never been conquered by the three big countries.
However, without any other reason and any further ado the once proud nation became slave by the people in Manila. All tribal leaders, spiritual leaders, and local leaders are mere puppets of the Superior race who are occupying the highest position in the government and sad to say that the latter have committed a tremendous discrimination against the majority Bangsamoro. The puppets neglected that because they are merely representing the national Government to the bangsamoro, not the representative of the Bangsamoro to the National Government.
During the 19th century ninety seven percent of the lands in Mindanao belonged to the Moros. But due to the will of some people in Luzon to grab the wealth of the Bangsamoro, they enacted several kinds of law to justify their land grabbing; one very good example of it is the Public Act Land No. 926, enacted on October 7, 1903. According to the law all lands not registered under Act No. 496 were deemed Public Lands. The Moros failed to register their lands under the law because of the fact that they owned it from immemorial. Therefore, People from various places in Luzon and Visayas were enjoined to immigrate in Mindanao.
Unfortunately, the businesses grabbed by the invaders in Mindanao have flourished and the Moros became sidewalk vendors to their own lands, and sometimes they are not at ease because they are tortured by the corrupt system of the Government, of course, putting small mobile business in sidewalk is unlawful. Today, according to the study the poor Moros owned less than 17 percent of the Mindanao Lands and 90 percent of them are landless tenants.
I do not know what may be the best words left for the Moros of today on how to justify to their ancestors in the hereafter the reason of surrendering their lands to the invaders.
Democracy is freedom for the majority but tyranny for the minority. The minority Bangsamoro wanted to remind the majority citizens of this country for the heroic achievements of their ancestors in liberating themselves from the Spanish Colonizer, that to free another means winning but to enslave other is failure. You have just betrayed the cause and the great glory of your ancestors, and betrayed the blood of your martyrs by closing your heart in the possible solution to the conflict in Mindanao.
