BEHIND THE FILIPINO REVOLUTION

The reason why history repeats itself is that men never read it by heart that is why most Filipinos failed to understand the Bangsamoro Revolution and to decide on how to address it with fairness and justice.

Before the young Filipino generation enjoy what is called Democracy today, the founding fathers of the Filipino nation sacrificed their lives, they eat nothing in the jungle but of bright ambition for the future of their beloved children, they were tortured by the Spanish savage military to surrender their struggle but the brave Filipinos never give up until they have died with honor, and they left their sons and daughters at home to bring for them the eternal love, freedom, justice, and camaraderie that had been grabbed from them for several centuries.

The founders of the Philippine democracy begun to think their inspired and blessed ideology when they realized the fact that they were treated as sub human by the colonizer. And the resentment of the Filipinos was ignited when the Spaniards executed the three noble Filipino priests; Burgos, Gomes, and Zamora (GOMBURZA). They led the call of the Middle Class for the churches in the Philippines be nationalized through a process known as Secularization. In this process, the control of Philippine parishes were to be passed from the religious orders to the secular priests, particularly Philippine-born priests.

If the cause of the said GOMBURZA has been properly planted to the heart of all citizens of today who are ripping the fruits of democracy, I think there is no Bangsamoro revolutionists who wanted to inform the world that they were treated as a third class citizen in their own land, that they became slave by just following the instructions (LAWS) of the superior race, which is absolutely against the will of Islam, and facing punishment once they violated it.

Dr. Jose Rizal’s writings particularly the El filibustirismo enlightened the minds and torched the spirit of the Filipinos to imagine beyond the bounds of shackle. The pursuit for happiness and freedom belongs to the Filipinos, but to fully implement it needs sacrifices. They imagined before sleeping at night things about freedom and the way how to get it, they told to themselves that they will tell to the Filipinos on how to do it, but when they were awake in the morning they realized that they were the Filipinos who need to liberate themselves from tyranny.

The revolutionaries led by Andres Bonifacio and Don Emilio Aguinaldo with the help of the Americans topple down the Spanish colonization in the Philippines.
Unfortunately, Don Emilio Aguinaldo was deceived by the Americans; he was told that the Americans have no intention to extend their sovereignty to the Philippine Islands, but after winning the revolution the Yankees unfaithfully and wilfully attacked the Filipino garrisons to annex the Philippines as part of their territory.

DON EMILIO AGUINALDO APPEAL TO THE EMPIRIAL COUNTRY IN THIS WAY:

“Distressing, indeed, is war! Its ravages cause us horror. Luckless Filipinos succumb in the confusion of combat, leaving behind them mothers, widows and children. America could put up with all the misfortunes she brings on us without discomfort; but what the North American people are not agreeable to is that she should continue sacrificing her sons, causing distress and anguish to mothers, widows and daughters to satisfy the whim of maintaining a war in contravention of their honourable traditions as enunciated by Washington and Jefferson.”

“Go back, therefore, North American people, to your old-time liberty. Put your hand on your heart and tell me: Would it be pleasant for you if, in the course of time, North America should find herself in the pitiful plight, of a weak and oppressed people and the Philippines, a free and powerful nation, then at war with your oppressors, asked for your aid promising to deliver you from such a weighty yoke, and after defeating her enemy with your aid she set about subjugating you, refusing the promised liberation?”

The feelings and the meaning of that appeal must be interpreted by heart. I think it is not bad to ammend some provisions of the 1987 constitution in order to give way for the MOA-AD. MOA-AD would only give peace to everybody and justice for the long oppressed people.

It is not us who need to be liberated but it is you my friends who need to be liberated from the few greedy politicians who endangered the safety of us the majority citizen of this country just to enjoy their wealth.
